soaring by...

Hi all!!

First and foremost I want to give a big shout out to Jen for her sweet comments about my blog in the PTI forums *big smile* I woke up to so many comments on my blog that I was on cloud 9 all day~thank you everyone for leaving me some blog love!!! I am feeling so BLESSED!!

I hope I don't disappoint, LOL!!!

Here is a quick card that I whipped up last night; since I have not used my Everyday Button Bits stamp set in quite a while, I decided to ink it up!!! I needed a card for a high school friend of mine that I reconnected with recently thru Facebook (I love that site for that very reason!!). Since she lives far away from me~I thought the balloons would be the perfect image for the card.

EBB soaring by_0005

And for some randomness...Yesterday Ashley called me and said her car would not start, since I was close by, I said I would be right over (glad I have jumper cables in the back of my vehicle). Usually Mike or Josh do that sort of thing for us girls; But Josh was working and Mike was in a meeting. I have seen it done numerous times and, it was really pretty easy!! Thank goodness!!

I followed her to the auto parts store, where they tested her battery~it needed to be replaced; but thankfully it was still under warranty *woot*. The guy came out and put it in for her while we supervised, LOL!! We chatted about how awkward we felt in an auto parts store/parking lot~kinda out of our element. Thankfully, we girls took care of it all on our own!! We were feeling pretty liberated!!

Make today a great one!!

happy happy birthday...

Hi all...

I hope your week is off to a great start! It has been pretty hot here in AZ (anything over 11o degrees is HOT to us, LOL!), every year I forget just how hot it gets...until it hits, but I remind myself, I would much rather have the heat than cold and snow!!!

I have been busy working on Birthday cards (this one is for my dear Friend Sue!!! Happy Birthday!!!!)~I copied this one I made a few weeks back, I just love this set by Lisa Johnson. I also used my new punch (which wasn't as easy as my SU! ones). I am hoping to get my PTI package this week!!! It has been a while since there have been new stamps in da house!!!

Enjoy your day!!

(floral frenzy) black-eyed susan...

Hi ya!
Happy Wednesday:D
I was editing photos last night and found this card that I forgot to post. So decided to post it for ya today. I used my very favorite set by Papertrey, Floral Frenzy. Did you get to check out the new releases on the 15th? Wish I had tons of $$ to spend, but I am going to have to narrow my wish list down from the past few releases, LOL!
I came across this site a few weeks back and wanted to pass it along...It has really made my meal planning so much easier!!! And the meals I have made were pretty yummy! I signed up for the WW points menu for a family, and I have to say, I always have leftovers, since Josh is never home. You get 7 meals, and since I always have leftovers I have only been choosing 4-5. I really like the fact that the planning and list making is already done for me, and it is really cheap, 1.25 per week (and they use the weekly sales to plan the menu)!!! I figure after about 6 months I can just cancel and rotate the menus...they don't repeat:D
Enjoy Today!

friends for Life....

I am so happy it is Friday...TGIF!!! I have been working extra hours this week covering for Ashley while she is in Lynchburg, VA taking a class for her Master's Degree. I usually have Friday's off (I am so spoiled!!), so I actually worked a 40 hour week, LOL! Ashley comes home tonight, and I am so glad! Boy did I miss her!!! You would think that working together, going to church together, and hanging out during the week that we would get sick of each other...NOPE!!!
Here is a card I made using a color combo I saw on Dawn's blog. I LOVE it! And can you believe that there is no ribbon on the card??? I know, shocking!!!
Have a fabulous weekend!!

another gift set...

We celebrated another birthday in our office this week (we have one almost every month). I happily volunteered to make the card and gift card holder (any reason to stamp, right?). I was on a roll with my PTI Life stamp set, and was just playing around on a scrap piece of paper with different ink colors...and ended up really liking the outcome...So I trimmed the scrap paper so I could use my creation on this card (luckily no one will look at the back of the cardstock, LOL!).
And of course keeping with my matching fetish...I made a coordinating tin to house the gift card. It is such a summery looking set:D
I am going into work a little late this morning so I can hopefully getting caught up on my photography class assignments (this is the last week to turn them in...nothing like waiting until the last minute, right?). I hope I can talk Mike into letting me take his picture (about 50 times) or else it will be a photo shoot with the cats.
Enjoy today!!

text boxed friend...

Hi all,
Boy, another weekend seemed to fly right by and get away from me...I usually have such big plans (and to-do lists) for my days off, and I usually end up procrastinating enough to not get them done *argh* I did get some time in the stamp room...so the weekend wasn't a total loss!
I am in need of some retail therapy (of the stamping kind!!!). I am getting tired of my stamps and need (no want) some new ones (I will try to wait until Papertrey's June release on the 15th). In the mean time...trying to get creative with my much loved stamps. I used Text Boxed for this card, and was pretty happy with the color combo of Ocean Tide and Aqua Mist (PTI~if you can't tell...I Love PTI!!!).
I am on the last week of my Photography Class and cannot believe 9 weeks flew by so fast (unfortunately I am behind on my assignments...due to not having willing subject to photograph), I am hoping to get caught up this week and bribe my family to let me take their pictures!!! I know I have said it before, but if you are wanting to learn how to take better photos, and learn how to get your camera off auto mode...this is an awesome class!!!!! Well worth the $. Karen Russell is an awesome teacher and explains things so that regular people can understand.
This week Mike and I are celebrating a few more graduations...it is gonna be a fun/busy week:D
Enjoy today!!!

new stuff and some rambling....

Happy Monday...
I have had an interesting weekend (enough said), I am really glad that things around the Clark home are going to be back to normal (whatever that is) today.
Here is a quick card I made using Lisa Johnson's new stamp set Life. I have been so busy the last couple of weeks that I haven't really had a chance to use it...hopefully this week I will get some stamping time *smile* I also used my new Perfect Match cardstock/ink/ribbon New Leaf...a really pretty green, btw!!!
I am enjoying my Photography Class, and so thankful that last week was Week 0, and pretty much an intro to the course...now I am ready to dig in :) Hopefully I will have some great photos to share this week!!!
Have a Wonderful Monday!!!!

dreams...

Hi all...are you ready for another week?? My weekend just flew by (but don't they always, lol!).
Friday I got an email from Brandy at PaperCrafts Magazine, she wanted to let me know that one of my cards is going to be on the cover...I couldn't believe it!!! I was dancing around the house like a crazy person, LOL! It was a nice way to start the weekend!
I really love the PTI stamp set Damask Designs designed by Dawn...but since I am trying to save $ these days, I resisted buying it (it is still on my wish list though, along with some of the new releases ), I decided to try to duplicate it, and used my Spiral Bouquet stamp set. As you can see I am still loving buttons.
Have a great Monday!

wednesday ramblings...

Hi all...
I cannot believe that it is already Wednesday!!!
Here is another card I stamped last week...I hope I get some time to stamp today, otherwise I will have to post some of my Connecticut trip photos tomorrow, LOL!

Last night I was helping Mike make posters for a Power For Life team that is coming to our church at the end of March. I am trying to learn my new Photoshop CS4 software (quite a learning curve from Elements 5). I will have to post my Handy work once it gets proofed.

I am off to work for a few hours today...then over to Ashley's to show her how to work her new Canon Rebel XT, and hopefully get the rest of my suitcases unpacked and put away.

Have a wonderful day!

raspberry butterfly...

TGIF friends!!
I made it into my stamp room again last night *smile* It is so nice to get back to my regular routine and enjoy my hobbies again!!!
I have a pretty busy weekend...since Mike and I have been sick, we didn't get to celebrate his birthday last weekend, so now that he is starting to feel better, we will celebrate on Sunday. I am also heading to Connecticut next week to visit my mom, so lots to do to prepare for that (have to make sure Josh and Mike have some easy meals lined up so they don't starve, lol!).
I needed to make a thank you card, so decided to pull out my Butterfly Kisses stamp set and paired it with a Raspberry Fizz and Black color scheme. It is hard to see from the photo...but I added Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the butterfly...it needed some bling!
Enjoy your weekend...thanks for visiting!!!

rustic branches with buttons...

Happy Thursday!!!
I am finally feeling like myself again! Whew!!! that flu was sure a doozy!!!! I made it into my craft room last night and you know how it is when you haven't stamped in a while...no mojo! Luckily I remembered all the great cards by the Papertrey Team from the latest release...this one is a case of Heather (using her stamp set Rustic Branches). I was happy to find some buttons in my stash that matched this Aqua Mist cardstock.
oh, I almost forgot...I have 2 more cards being published in PaperCrafts Magazine in October 09!! I was really excited to get the email last week!!!

HB to my hubby!!!

Howdy,
Today is my hubby's birthday (Happy Birthday Mike!!! He reads my blog every day...isn't he sweet?)...can you guess how old he is?
Of course I broke out my Fresh Alphabet set by PTI, to come up with his birthday card. I made this last week when I was on my cuttlebug kick. I really do love the Perfect Match collection by PTI (I have several favorites!!! including Ripe Avocado), I just love having everything match...cardstock, ink, and ribbon.
I have the day off today, I am taking an online Photoshop class, and spending some time with the birthday boy*smile*
Have a good one!!!!

still using my cuttlebug...

Happy Friday All!
Today I have a quick post...I am working today (I usually have Fridays off), since Ashley is on her way to visit her friend Lindsay in Texas for the weekend, I am filling in for her at work.
This card is a case of a case (original by Nichole Heady-my idol!). I really do love this layout and I added some embossed cardstock to the top of both of my versions (Cuttlebug). I haven't used Aqua mist in quite some time (got a little burned out with all the wedding stuff), but remembering how much I really enjoy this color!
Have an Awesome weekend!!!

swirls and flowers...

Hi all...
I thought I would take a break from Valentine's Day cards. I have been on a Cuttlebug kick this week, huh? I really like these flowers from the Green Thumb stamp set (PTI, of course). The color combo for today's card is Ripe Avocado, Berry Sorbet, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White...one I will most likely use again. I played around with the layers on this card for a while before I got them to where I liked them...in the end it all worked out, but I didn't really have a place for a sentiment, so I decided to leave it off (sometimes less is more, right?).
Yesterday I helped Ashley hang some curtains in her apartment...now I know why I usually let my hubby do those jobs (because I am an eyeball it kind of gal), they are up and straight, but I am sure Mike would have done a better job ;)
Have a great day!!!

abc~love u...

Happy Wednesday!
I have another Valentine card for you...when Papertrey had their January release, I decided to get the Fresh Alphabet stamp set. I really liked the look of it, and who cannot use another alphabet set, right? I am so glad I got it, because I really {heart} it!!!! I know I have said this before, but the best part about PTI stamps is that you can see exactly where you are stamping...an AWESOME thing when you are using an alpha set. I also have been using my neglected cuttlebug...I forgot how much I liked it!!!
Any Biggest Looser fans??? I could not believe Carla and Joelle-CRAZY!!!!!! I hope Carla is the biggest looser!!!!
Enjoy your day!!!

hello friend...

Howdy,
I have been busy trying to learn Photoshop CS3 (a friend of ours let me download it onto my computer, hooray!!!). I have to say the learning curve from Photoshop Elements 5 to CS3 is a little steep (for me anyway). None of the tools are in the same spot, the shortcuts are different, and me being a creature of habit (and 40 years old, lol!), it is taking a little getting used to. I am excited about the possibilities, because this version ROCKS!!! So please be patient with my edits...I will get it figured out!!!
I just had to get the new set Fresh Alphabet by Papertrey (I {heart} alphabet stamp sets...especially when they are acrylic~and I can see where I am stamping). This one is really nice!!! Simple and a nice size for cards...I see some personalized cards in the future. I also used my new Fresh Snow ink pad, which I really like too!!! This card took a while to finally come together, but after playing around with different layouts, I was finally happy with this one. I added a Stampin'Up Felt flower and Olive button (which matched the PTI Raspberry Fizz and Ripe Avocado nicely).
Thanks for visiting~Enjoy Today!

just because...

Hi friends...
I hope your Wednesday is off to a great start...I just love the half way mark, because Friday is right around the corner *smile*
Today I am off to work, then to Ashley's to work out (I have been so bad this week!). I also missed "The Biggest Looser" last night (had a meeting), and Mike is busy tonight and Thursday, so I may have to watch it without him.
Okay enough rambling...This Remember stamp set designed by Lisa Johnson is one of my favorites lately!!! I just love this poppy image. I paired Ripe Avocado and Ocean Tides together (thanks to Dawn's recent post), and I must say it is a really pretty combo!!!
Supplies used (Papertrey Ink unless noted): Remember/Floral Frenzy stamp sets; Ocean Tides/Ripe Avocado/Whisper White (SU!) cardstock; Choc Chip (SU!)/Ocean Tides/Ripe Avocado ink; Ocean Tides Grosgrain Ribbon.

friends to the end...

Hi Everyone...
I hope you had a wonderful Monday:) I had it off, so of course it was great! Mike and I spent the day together just running some errands, getting lunch and grocery shopping, (we live such an exciting life, huh?).
I also had a couple of hours in my stamp room, so of course that made me happy! I wanted to break out some of my new Papertrey Ink paper and Ribbon. I bought the Fresh Snow ink pad, and I have to say it is AWESOME!!! Really a bright white (LOVE IT!). I also got some of the polka dot satin ribbon (another fav!). I had to try out my new ink pad, so I decided to stamp this daisy from the Floral Frenzy set onto some pure poppy cardstock. I added some Crystal Effects to the center of the flowers to give it some shine. I was happy with the finished product *smile*
Enjoy today~Thanks for visiting!!!
