Happy Leap Year...

Happy February 29th!

Well I am so happy it is Friday...it has been a crazy week! I didn't get much stamping done *insert sad face*. I am hoping to get some time this weekend to stamp! I made this card a while ago, using some of my "hoarded" patterned paper. I really like the simplicity of it.
Random note: Mike and I met some people from church at Starbucks last night and I was thinking I was going to get an awesome White Chocolate Mocha (non-fat of course), since SB's closed nationwide on Tuesday for retraining...I was really disappointed...it was not as yummy as before, but since I {heart} coffee I drank it anyway...I could have asked them to remake it but I am not one to complain because I don't want them to spit in my coffee...does anyone else think like that?
I hope I have something new and exciting to post on Monday! Have a super weekend!

an oldie...

Happy Thursday all...

I pulled this card out of my stash, I was just not in the stamping mood last night. I did have good intentions, but just couldn't get my stamping mojo on, probably since I was so tired after my Wednesday. I ran a ton of errands before work, then after work Mike and I visited someone from our church who needed a listening ear, then went to pick up Mike's car from the shop ($620 OUCH!). Luckily Mike decided to grab some dinner from Chipotle(one of our favorite places), and bring it home, and can you believe that when we pulled in the driveway the "service engine soon" light came back on in Mike's car (Arghhh!). After chowing down we watched American Idol. And called it a night.

I hope your Thursday is Terrific! I am so ready for Friday!

bloom where you're planted

Well we made it to Wednesday! The weekend is just around the corner...can you believe that it will be March already? That sure was fast!

Yesterday was a crazy day...I got a call from Mike around 4pm and he said his car broke down *bummer*. I am glad we are getting a refund from our taxes this year, but I would have rather spent that money on stamps! Oh well, what are you gonna do? I am really trying not to stress too much over the little things, but it is hard some times.

On a happier note...My mom got a promotion! (way to go mom!). So last night I whipped up this card for her. It uses the PTI set Spiral Bouquet. It is hard to see from the picture, but the flowers have stardust stickles on them...had to add some bling!

Have a Wonderful Wednesday!
Thanks for stopping by today.

a beautiful life...

I hope you all had a great Monday...It is always a little rough trying to get back into the swing of things after the weekend. Yesterday was such a nice day here in Arizona! I actually had to run my A/C on the way home from work (sorry to rub it in mom!). Mike and I also went for a walk before dinner, I love when Mike joins me for a walk...because I get kinda bored by myself, and was so nice to catch up with each other.

I realized that since I didn't get to stamp this weekend *insert sad face*, I didn't have anything new and exciting to post, so while Mike was checking his emails, I whipped up this card with the "A Beautiful Life" stamp set. Can you believe that I have had this set for quite some time now and haven't inked it up yet? I wanted to keep it simple and decided to try the color scheme red and river rock...I was happy with the end result.

Thanks for visiting my blog!

Have a terrific Tuesday!

Birthday Cupcakes

Happy Monday!
I don't know about you...but my weekend just seemed to fly by! Mike finished our taxes...yippee! And found out we are getting a return *happy face*.
I did not get any stamping done (since our computer is in my stamp room...Mike had piles of stuff everywhere), except for a quick card for one of my co-workers birthday. I cased this card from Kristina Werner (Starofmay on Splitcoast Stampers). I know I have said this before...she makes the nicest cards, and when I need to make a card quick I love using her cards for inspiration! The cupcake image is a stamp I got at Michael's for $1, I stamped it in Staz-On Black ink and then used my Watercolor Crayons and Aqua Painter to color in the image.
I also made a matching tin (which is housing some chocolate and a gift card), since I was in a rush, I just used some matching paper to cover up the window.
I hope you have a Marvelous Monday! Thanks for visiting my blog!

Green Thumb

TGIF!
Happy Friday all! I am so looking forward to the weekend, although I have lots of stuff to do...you know the usual cleaning, yard work, groceries, and our small group meeting from church is meeting at our house tonight and my craft room looks like a tornado ripped through it.

Here is a card I made the other night while Mike was working on our computer. I used my Green Thumb set from Papertrey. I haven't used this set in so long, it was fun pulling it out again. I used the rock n' roll technique on the flower pot (that is when you ink up your stamp in one color than rock and roll it on a darker ink pad), and then decided to pop up one of the flowers with a dimensional. And of course I added a scalloped border, since I am on a scallop kick right now, lol!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

guy cards...

It's Thursday and you know what that means...tomorrow is Friday *happy face*

Mike needed some thank you cards and I had strict guidlines: no flowers and no ribbon *gasp* I pulled out my PTI Out on a Limb set again and decided to use the leaves (not flowers) this time. I think they met his guidlines. Now he just needs to find some time to write them.

Our computer has been acting up for about 3 weeks now...yesterday when I got home from work there was a weird screen with a message on it (that made no sense to me). When Mike got home we took a quick trip to Best Buy and got a new Video card...it is working great now! Boy, I really miss my computer when it is down!

Thanks for visiting! I hope you have a fabulous day...

thanks...always

Well we made it half way through the week...
I think Ashley is getting the flu, so she came over last night for some homemade chicken noodle soup and then we watched Oprah (recorded from earlier). Dr Oz was on, I love him! I love the fact that he answers really weird medical questions and doesn't make people feel dumb. The show started off with the man who turned blue from drinking some sort of silver...it was pretty interesting.

I hope you are all having a super day! I am off to the dentist (again) this morning. I have 2 fillings that need to be replaced (seems like everything starts to fall apart once you start to approach 40...*sigh*).

okay, now for the stamping...I was dying to ink up this stamp set again...I think it is so pretty. I needed a quick thank you card for a friend, and this one came together pretty fast. I really like the scallop edge you get from the corner rounder punch, and of course I had to put on some of my favorite wide chocolate ribbon.

Thanks for visiting!
Enjoy your Wednesday.

I love this stamp set!

okay...can you tell that I really like this set Out on a Limb from Papertrey Ink? I just think it is so versatile. And can you believe that there is no ribbon on this card? me neither! lol! it was really hard not to add some, but I just couldn't find a spot where it looked good. I did use my Crystal Effects on the flowers to give them some shine (it looks a lot better IRL!).

I made a bunch of thank you notes with this same set on Saturday... (I will post those this week), and I love the fact that they came together so fast. I think this is my favorite PTI set (for this week anyway! until I get a new one, lol!). If you haven't had a chance to check out PTI's new stuff check it out here. Isn't the new color line awesome? I cannot wait to order some of that cardstock and matching ribbon!

Thanks for visiting! I hope you have a great day!

more nugget tins & cupcakes...

Hi all...
Just popping in this morning with a quick post...Mike has the day off, so I am going to spend a few moments with him before I head off to work.

I made a bunch of these Valentine's nugget tins for the Hospitality Team at church...I just love the way they turned out. I used my Papertrey Ink Holiday Treats stamp set and just adapted it to Valentine's Day.

I also wanted to post a picture of Ashley's Valentine cupcakes...she loves to bake and I think these came out really cute! They were really yummy too! I love cupcakes...they are so fun!

Have a super Monday and thanks for visiting my blog!

friendship blooms

Happy Friday!

I hope you had a great Valentine's Day! My hubby surprised me last night...When I got home from work, there was a card and flowers waiting for me...and then I got the biggest surprise...he bought stuff to make dinner (isn't that the sweetest?). He had an eye appointment so after that we feasted on shrimp cocktail, alfredo pasta with crab, veggies, and sparkling cider...he even got strawberries to dip in chocolate for dessert (we saved those for tonight because we ate too much at dinner). I have to say I was really surprised and really enjoy my dinner...*thanks babe!*

Here is another card using my Friendship Blooms Sale-A-Bration set from SU!. I used my markers to color the rubber stamp, so that way I could get muliple colors on the flowers.

FYI...Papertrey is celebrating their first birthday this month and I am so excited about all the new products! There is a new release on the 15th of every month (today is 2/15) and you won't be disappointed! You can check out the new stuff here. I am really going to have to use some will power not to order everything!

I hope you have a super weekend! Thanks for visiting my blog!

happy {heart} day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Every Valentine's Day I bring in some sort of treat to work. This year I decided to give my co-workers/bosses cookies (from Paradise Bakery *yummy*). I was trying to think of a creative way to package them, but I ran out of time. I found these pink/white/red bowls at Target (my favorite store, lol!) and filled them up with cookies and Dove chocolates, then put a big cello bag around them and tied with curling ribbon. I hope they enjoy them.

I made small cards to attach to them, and since the majority of my office is male, I tried not to make them too fancy (that was hard). Here is a close up of the card.

Yesterday was such a great day! The weather here has been gorgeous! I think it was 77 degrees *happy face* I went to my eye appointment and was able to get my contacts in and out twice...so I am officially a contact lens wearer (I don't know why I waited so long...it really isn't too bad at all, I thought I wouldn't be able to touch my eye, but it was pretty easy). Then I went into work, and since it was a short day for the office, Ashley and I decided to go out for lunch. We called Josh on the way and he met us. We went to...Paradise Bakery, I LOVE their turkey and cranberry sandwich (so yummy!). We had such a nice time, I love spending time with my kids! They are so much fun!

We don't have any exciting plans tonight...Mike has an eye exam after work, so I may go with him to help him pick out some reading glasses...he is finally caving in (now that he is 44, lol!). Hopefully we will go out this weekend to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse (we still have our gift card from our anniversary).

Have a great {heart} day! Thanks for stopping by today!

I am so flattered!

A sweet reader of my blog nominated me for the "Rated Excellent" award...I was truely honored! Thanks Jules! You can check out her awesome blog here.

Today I am going to be fitted for my contacts...I am a little bit nervous mostly that I can take them out okay! The eye doctor will not let me take them until I can put them in and take them out twice by myself...wish me luck!

Can you believe that this card has no stamping on it? I was dying to use my new accents & elements felt flowers from SU! I started out by choosing some patterened paper to match them (I used my corner rounding punch to create the scalloped edge), and of course I had to use my new orange striped ribbon! once I had it somewhat layed out...it needed something at the bottom...I thought "how about some of my new rub ons (love those things)." I like that the rub ons are so bright and crisp, especially on the kraft cardstock.

I hope you have a terrific day! Thanks for visiting my blog!

wish journal

Saturday I attended a Wish Journal class taught by Kimberly Kwan. I had a lot of fun. A special thanks to my friend Cindy who was unable to attend and gave me her spot *hugs Cindy*. I sat next to Jennifer (Hi Jennifer!) and enjoyed getting to know her (she is Cindy's friend). I enjoyed being the student! When the class started we were given our packets and told how to assemble the journal, but the paper choices and layout were totally up to us. There was no rhyme or reason on how to put it together...just what made us happy. I had a hard time getting started (after my adventure..story below), but things just seemed to flow after a few minutes. I was happy with my finished project. I am not much of a journal'er but I think this will be a nice book to use for our small group study at church to write prayer requests in.

{When I was driving to my class on Saturday morning...I was having a great morning, it was sunny, I planned extra time to get a Starbucks, I had my Yahoo Maps Directions, going along as planned...when all of a sudden I saw a sign that said 101 north closed from Friday night until Monday. I kind of read that and thought "I am sure there is one lane open", I was hoping for the best! (that was not the case). Okay, so as some of you know I am severely direction challenged, I had no idea what I was going to do! I saw that everyone was exiting at the Scottsdale Rd exit (so this must be the way I should go?). I was starting to get a little anxiety at this point. I called Mike and luckily he coached me through it (even though he had no idea where I was going...just the general area). I was happy to only be about 5 min late (along with 2 other people). I was so relieved that 101 south was open (it only took me about 35 min to get home). It was definitely an adventure!}

Thanks for visiting today, have a wonderful day!

happy birthday to my hubby!

Happy Monday and Happy Birthday to my hubby! Today is Mike's 44th birthday. We had a family celebration for him yesterday...this is the card I made him (*this set is one of SU! SAB sets, that you can get FREE if you spend $50). I hope he had a special day! After church I made buffalo wings (one of his favorite things to eat), along with roasted potatoes and veggies (had to keep it a little healthy, lol!). Then we enjoyed some Boston Cream Cake (another favorite of Mike). Then the birthday boy got to open his presents *happy face*. All I can say is my diet went out the window yesterday! Luckily the weather was soooo nice yesterday that Mike and I went for a walk (made me feel a little better).

I had a really busy weekend! I went to my "wish Journal" class on Saturday and had lots of fun (will post more about that tomorrow), gave Mike, Josh, and Ashley a haircut (*random note* I have my cosmotology license), and colored Ashley's hair, planned Mike's birthday celebration, cleaned the house, went to the grocery store and can you believe got some stamping time in on Saturday night. Whew! the weekend flew by!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have an awesome Monday!

Happy birthday Mike!

tart and tangy

Happy Friday!
I had a little bit of time on Wednesday night to play with my new stuff! I had to break open my Tart and Tangy set! This color scheme is so out of my comfort zone, but I think it looks really summery.

This morning I am going to the eye doctor for my annual check up...I think I am going to take the plunge and get contacts. I have always been kind of scared of them, but I think I will like them so much better! I also have to get my eyes dialated (he does it every other year). I have blue eyes, so I am super sensitive to light anyway, and this just amplifies it. Luckily Josh is home so he is going to drive me home. Do you know that my eye doctor says that when you get your eyes dialated that is what your vision will be like at 60? That is kind of a downer!

Tomorrow I am going to Scottsdale for a class with Kimberly Kwan. We are making a wish journal. My friend Cindy gave me her spot, since she is out of town and couldn't attend (*thanks Cindy!*). I will post my journal next week. I am really excited to attend!

I hope you have a super weekend! Thanks for visiting.

try and try again

It is Thursday....which means Friday is just around the corner *happy face*

This card took me a while to complete...I started with a totally differant image and patterend paper...played around with it a while, but just couldn't get it to look how I invisioned (does that ever happen to you?). I was starting to get frustrated so I ripped it apart, and started over (kept some of the designer paper since it was already stuck to the black CS. I then added the blue Designer Paper to the top, and decided to change the image altogether, using my Big Blooms set (it is hard to see from the photo, but the flower is popped up with a dimensional). I think I am happy with the final outcome.

Non stamping stuff: Have you ever seen this website? I put my name in yesteday to see what it meant...some of it was true and some was not...it was fun anyway...Give it a try.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

another one of a kind...

I made this card a few days ago, I was playing around with black and white, and thought it needed some red (one of my favorite colors) to make it pop. I used my One of a Kind stamp set (can you believe I forgot to order the coordinating punch when I originally ordered this set? It will hopefully be waiting for me on my doorstep when I get home from work today *happy face*).

I am so bummed that I didn't get to exercise yesterday (see yesterdays post...trying to get back into the swing of things), when I got home from work, Mike was waiting for me to go and vote...and there was a really long line (and that was at 4 pm...I am sure it was worse later). I guess that was a good excuse, because it is important, ya know! There is always tomorrow (my famous last words). When I got home it was time to start dinner...Ashley came over to eat with us and last night it was just the 4 of us for dinner (that was kind of weird), We don't usually have just the Clark family for dinner anymore. We all sat in our usual dinner table spots. we always have fun at dinner...we have to warn guests...we are 4 people that sound like 10 (we don't like to scare people away, lol!).

Have a great day...and thanks so much for stopping by today!

get well Edie!

I hope you are having a great Tuesday!
I have been really getting a lot of use out of my new Papertrey Ink set Out on a Limb, I really do like this set!
I needed a get well card for my friend Cindy's mom (Edie), who is in the hospital. I hope this cheers her up a little.
Yesterday I finally dusted off my elliptical machine and used it for about 30 min (I was looking at the clock after being on it for 5 min...why does exercise have to be so much work?). I have been so unmotivated with my workouts these days, I am hoping to force myself back into a routine! Too bad stamping wasn't an exercise, lol!
I am so excited...my SU! order shipped yesterday (I earned most of the Sale-A-Bration sets), so I will have tons of stamps to play with...I cannot wait!
Thanks for stopping by today...Have a super day!

friends forever

I hope you had a great weekend! I kept busy all day Friday getting my projects ready and mailed to Papercrafts magzine. Now I just have to wait until thier October 2008 Holiday issue to see them in print.

Mike and Nate were glued to the televison on Sunday night...I just kept the snacks coming and cleaned up between courses. Ashley and I did some stamping...I had some extra packets left over from my Valentine Class, so we decided to stamp them (we both have plenty of Valentine cards to send out now), since we were not really interested in the game.

Don't you just love this kitty stamp? I love it! I ordered this stamp set (Cutie Pet-Tootie) from Cornish Heritage Farms they have some really cute stamp sets. I decided to stamp the image onto my leftover Valentine paper from last year, then cut around the image and pop him up with a dimensional. The sentiment reads Friends Forever (which I got from Michael's for $1), and of course no card is complete without some ribbon *wink*

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a fantastic day!

it's Friday...

Happy Friday!
I hope you had a great week! I am looking forward to some stamping time this weekend, since Mike will be glued to the television on Sunday (he is a huge Patriot's fan).
Todays card was inspired by Kristina Werner, I know I have said it before, but I LOVE her cards! This one uses Groovy Guava and Blush Blossom card stock (which looks really nice together I must say). The heart is outlined in glitter and then popped up on a dimensional.
I have lots to do today, the Ashley Furniture people are coming this morning to fix the scratches on my leather sofa (from Peter our cat), I am hoping to get my submissons for Papercrafts Magazine finished and boxed up and ready to mail, clean the bathrooms, and hopefully get my craft room somewhat organized.
I am also ready to go with my SU! order...today is the first day of Sale-a-Bration, and demonstrators can also pre-order from the new mini (which is so cute btw!).
Thanks for stopping by today and Have a great weekend!
