{Hugs} in a jar...

I have seen numerous recipes floating around Pinterest for these Chocolate Pretzel Treats, and decided to give them a try, since they only take 3 ingredients and can be made in about 10 minutes.

Here are the ingredients:
Waffle Pretzels
Hershey's Hugs Kisses
M&M's

My nice hubby unwrapped all the hugs for me (I even let him eat a few, LOL!).  I preheated the oven to 200 degrees; and lined up my waffle pretzels on my baking stone (you can use a cookie sheet too); and placed a Hershey Hug on top of each pretzel.  Bake for 8 min (that's it, just enough time for the hugs to get a little melt-y).

When you take them out of the oven, place an M&M right on top.

Let them cool (I put mine in the fridge for about an hour)  until the chocolate was set.

Once they were cooled (I ate a few), I put them in a mason jar, stamped a topper, and tied it up with some ribbon.
This batch of hugs was for a friend of mine that got a new job.  I really love the combination of sweet and salty~so yummy (and easy peasy!!)!!

celebrating Jess' Bday...

Happy Monday everyone!!
I hope you had a great weekend!! Mike and I had a great (short) visit to CT last week!! It was nice to get away, but it is always nice to come home!

Josh's girlfriend Jess celebrated her 20th birthday last week, but since Mike and I were leaving to go out of town, we pushed it to yesterday (since we usually celebrate birthdays on Sunday after church). Here are the favors I whipped up for the party. I found these jars at Hobby Lobby, and made the name tags in Adobe Illustrator, then just ran them thru my Cuttlebug with my Nestabilities circle/scallop circle dies~Easy Peasy!! They are filled with the fruity Tootsie Rolls, which my kids LOVE.

Here is the card I made for Jess~this one also came together really fast! I downloaded the subway art from Eighteen 25 and just shrunk it down in photoshop to fit my rectangle Nestabilities die. You can down load the image HERE.

best wishes...

Hi' ya'll! I am soooo happy today is Friday (I know I say this every single week, LOL!)!! It has been a long week for me. Today post is gonna be kinda quick...

I have worked as the office manager in a doctor's office for the past 8 years, and today is the last day for one of the Doctor's in our office, he is closing his practice. I sure will miss him in the office!! I wanted to make up a little going away/thanks for being a great boss gift for him, so I filled this jar (which I purchased here), with some York Peppermint patties~yum!! I also made up a quick tag for the front of the jar with my most recent go-to stamp set/die, and made a color coordinated card for a Starbucks gift card. I left it on his desk last night~so he will get it first thing today when he comes into work. I love being secretive like that, LOL!

I will have my organization Day 3 post up a little later today (which will be posted below this post)~I would love to know if you like/dislike these types of non-stamping related posts~please drop me an email me/leave a comment.

Happy Friday!! Have a terrific weekend!!

been thinking about my friend...

Hi all...
How is your week going? I am so glad that this week is another short work week for me; I am exhausted/drained from the holidays!! Monday was really rough getting up early for work (I fell asleep on the couch when I came home, LOL!); It is also especially hard, since Mike has this entire week off. Today is my last day of work for this week *woot* then Thursday and Friday Mike and I are going to do some major organizing in the garage (I know it is very disturbing that this gets me excited)!! My OCD is showing, I know. Mike is also planning on turning our hall closet into a pantry for me (hooray!!). I get so frustrated trying to put away all my stuff from Costco in my "little" kitchen cupboards; I am going to order some of these (which really make me happy!!). I will post before and after photos~hopefully my hubs will start the project today (since it is suppose to rain all day).

Here is a quick project I made for the Hospitality Teams at church (which I am currently in charge of). I totally copied them from Nancy (since they were so super cute??). I can see more of these spice jars in my crafting future...I am thinking Valentine's Day!!

On a more somber note...
My very dear friend, Cindy, lost her best friend and husband, Mark, on Christmas Eve. Mike got the call early on Friday morning, and I just sat in disbelief that entire morning (and most of the day). While we know that Mark is now in heaven and no longer suffering~it is still hard for all the people he left behind. I cannot even imagine what my friend is experiencing!! Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers, as she makes arrangements this week for the funeral. Big Hugs to you Cindy!!!

Happy Christmas Eve!!!

I can not believe it is Christmas Eve~boy this year has really flown by!! I think I am all ready for the festivities (and if I forgot something~well, it just isn't going to get done); I am kinda doing the "go with the flow" thing this year (which has been quite interesting for me). I am currently reading this book; and I hope to simplify my life a lot more in 2011!

On Wednesday Ashley came over to "pretty" up some gifts she made for the worship team at church. Of course I was excited to help out!! She made some of this (which I absolutely LOVE~YUM!!), and packaged it up in a mason jar (don't you just love mason jars??).

I used my new circle Nestabilitie dies to cut a circle for the top (which was the perfect size); out of patterned paper, and used my Holiday treats stamp set (love that set!!), to make some tags for the top. Ashley picked up this cute holiday ribbon at HL, so we tied a bow around the lid (gotta have ribbon!!). I think they came out pretty cute *wink*; and since Mike has been helping out with the band, he got one...and I ate the muddy buddies already!!!

I want to wish you all, my sweet blog readers a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year; from my little family!!!

quick gift packaging

Hi all,
Another weekend behind us *sad face* I thought mine would be pretty uneventful, but this is what Josh brought home on Friday...Let me just say...I am not a dog person (pretty much like Lucy on Charlie Brown~DOG GERMS!). I have stuck my ground for years~NO DOGS!!! Well Josh brought this little guy home on Friday, apparently someone abandoned him where Josh works. He stayed the night on Friday, and he was really a great puppy...I told Josh we could give him a trial run...so far so good. I still cannot believe I said ok! His name is Codie and he is starting to grow on me *wink*

I wanted to share this cute and easy packaging idea...I am always on the lookout for containers and stuff to package gifts in (I have tons of stuff on hand, LOL!! I do have a craft hoarding problem). I found these containers at IKEA really cheap. I added some pretty shredded paper some Godiva chocolates and a few giftcards and viola! I think it came out pretty cute...can you guess how old the recipient was (which is NOT old if you happen to read this)???
