It's almost spring...

Tomorrow is the first day of spring!!  So even though the weather here in Arizona feels anything but spring like (a high of 55 degrees today), which is VERY unusual for us!!  so I made this card with my new Ali Edwards stamp set.  I love Ali's stamp sets for my Project life album (I have not even taken my new kit for this year out of the box yet, argh!!), as well as for cards.  

So even though I am not feeling the springtime weather, this card makes me feel spring like!!

Hi all,

I hope you had a great weekend!!  

If you are friends with me on Facebook, than you may have seen my post about our cat "Kitty" who we had to put down on Saturday night.  It is really hard loosing a pet, and since Mike was is of town, Josh came with me.  Josh is one of the most sensitive people I know, and he is taking it pretty hard (this is the first pet we have lost as a family)  :(  I just have to remember that we had her for 13 years and she will always hold a special place in our hearts.  We had a little ceremony and buried her in our garden yesterday.  RIP Kitty (1998-2011)!!!

I did have a little time in my stamping room over the weekend.  I and am trying to get my stamping mojo back~so bear with me, LOL!!  I am really attracted by anything "chalkboard" these days, and I thought I would try to mimic that in a card.  It felt a little plain, so I added a doily to the back, just to give it some "frill".

Hi all~ my Friday post is a little late :(
It has been a little crazy around here!! I have a quick and easy card for you today~this one came together pretty quickly...I forgot that I had these tags in my stash of scrapbooking stuff and LOVE how they look on a card.



Mike's is still not feeling great, his labs came back normal, but the doctor is going to treat him like he has Valley Fever, cause he has all the symptoms (and his coughing is driving me CRAZY!!)...so I am off to the Pharmacy to pick up his medication...I am hoping he starts feeling better soon, cause I have lots of "honey-do" projects saved up for him, LOL!!

Happy Friday!! My favorite day of the week!!!
I am not sure if you knew or not, but blogger has been out of commission since early yesterday morning (5/12). It was seriously driving me crazy, LOL!! I kept checking last night (every 10 min), to see if it was back up, so I could update my blog for today. Finally this morning it is working~hooray!!!



It is gonna be a quickie post today, since I have a to-do list a mile long and really need to get off the computer this morning.


I needed a few thank you cards for some special people that blessed me last week *smile*. Here is one I whipped up the other day~I felt like it needed a little something else, and the doily was just the thing. I just really love them on cards ;)



Okay Friends I am off to run some errands and hopefully clean my bathrooms today!!

Hi Blog friends!
I hope you week is off to a great start!! I got a few things crossed off my to-do list on Monday, which always makes me happy!! I had been wanting to organize my cards for a while (and boy, I have quite a few, LOL!) and I think I have finally come up with a solution~which I will blog about on Friday, stay tuned :)

I signed up for this class last week (along with my friend Cindy~hi friend!!); and I am super excited to get my first lesson on Thursday~I am sure I will be blogging about it along the way, LOL!!
**and I think there is still time to sign up if you are interested~and all you need is your creativity and a camera (oh yeah, and the $36 class fee).**

Yesterday Mike and I (mostly Mike), finished our taxes...such a great feeling to get that over with~I might even get to make a stamp order with some of the refund $ *woot woot*

Today's card was inspired by Maile's card, which you can see here; I just love her stamping style!! After playing around with the different layers/cardstock...this is what I came up with.

Howdy all!~
I hope you had a great weekend, it rained here in Phoenix, which allowed me some time in my craft room *smile*

I also had a "girl's night out" with one of my friends from church~which was a lot of fun!! We decided to make it a monthly date!! We ate here, and I have no idea how many WW points I consumed~but they were yummy!!

Mike and I went here on Saturday to spend some of our Christmas gift cards (I tend to hoard them, LOL!), this is one of the tops I purchased~then we finished off the afternoon with one of these. YUM!!

I needed some more sympathy/thinking of you cards (which I have seemed to need a lot of lately). My aunt passed away a couple of weeks ago from cancer (such a terrible disease which I hope I NEVER get!!). Even though I am not very close with my cousins, I wanted to send them a card letting them know I am thinking/praying for them.



I am super excited to have today off *woot woot* (and so does my hubby!!), not sure what is on the agenda~but hoping to get a few things crossed off my to-do list and then maybe watch a movie with my hubs!!

Happy {heart} Day!!

Happy Valentine's Day Friends!! I hope you had a fabulous weekend. I was busy with birthday and Valentine stuff (which was lots of fun!!). I got to get a little crafty~which is always a plus *smile*. Friday night I made one of Mike's favorite dinners for his actual birthday, and on Sunday the kids all came over to help us celebrate. In between all the celebrating~I whipped up a few Valentine's for my favorite peeps!!

I saw this post a while back, and thougth it would be cute to make it into a Valentine's Day theme box.

I made these for the girlies. I found the containers at the Dollar Tree, and filled them up with red, pink, and white goodies (along with a Starbuck's gift card). Lots of fun to put together too!!






Since the boys really don't care about all that frilly stuff, this is what they got.

I hope you are having a marvelous week!!! Are you finished with your shopping? I am just about done, just a few stocking stuffer's to pick up, and some cookie decorating stuff for Sunday night. I am excited for out little cookie party!! (I am gonna be baking lots and LOTS of sugar cookies tomorrow night~it is all about planning ahead, right?!)

Last night everyone came over for dinner and haircuts (do you think I took photos for my DDA?? Nope~it got too crazy, LOL! we may have to recreate the evening so I can photograph it, see I am going with the flow with my DDA *wink*).
Recently I found this website (warning a video starts playing right away and usually scares me) for quick dinners, (I am always looking for those!!), and thought I would pass it along; this is what I made for dinner last night and it seemed to be a hit with the fam; and it only took me about 20 min (included baking of the chicken), to prepare *sweet*


A friend of mine is celebrating her birthday today, Happy Birthday Cindy!!!; so on Monday afternoon, I had a few moments to play with my stamping stuff *smile* Here is the card I made for her.

Thanks so much for the name suggestions for Ashley's little doggie.

I think they have finally decided on a name after much deliberation. Nate wanted to name him chewbakka,"chewy" for short...and Ashley like Oliver "ollie" for short. But since they were both pretty firm on their name suggestions, they decided to throw out both of those names and call him "Hershey" since he is like a little Hershey Kiss, LOL!!! He is the sweetest little dog ever!!! I seriously may go over and dog-nap him today!!!

He got all fixed up at the groomers on Wednesday, so of course I went over to Ashley's house to see what he looked like...TOO CUTE!!! I snapped a few photos of "Hershey" with Ashley's camera (so she could post his new haircut on Facebook), and Ashley took a few of me with the cutie pa~tootie!! Here we are posing for the camera :)



Ok, now onto the stamping:
I have been wanting to pick up some of these doilies forever and always forgot!!! I just so happened to walk down the cake decorating aisle and saw them~woot woot! So in my basket they went!!! I pulled out my Delightful Dahlia stamp set and Die and went to work. The doilies add such a nice lacey touch~really pretty!!! I ran my Creamy Carmel ink pad over it to give it more of and antiqued look. They were lots of fun to work with~ and I am sure there will be more doily posts in the future, LOL!!



I was too tired last night to photograph my non stamping craft projects...so Monday will be the day to show them off, LOL!!!

Do you have exciting plans for the weekend?? I downloaded a bunch of stuff from this website, since I signed up for the free trial lesson last week (it included lots of PF files to download and print). From what I saw in the first lesson, the class looked pretty awesome!!! But I just could not justify spending $65 on the course right now (since I am in FPU).

This weekend I hope to put together a Christmas Planning binder that will hopefully get my hiney in motion for this years festivities!!! You can read Aby's article for getting organized for the holidays here.
