Forever family...

Happy Monday!!

On Saturday Mike and I were honored to celebrate the adoption of Hunter joining his forever family Ross and Erica. Facebook is so great for connecting you with lots of peeps from your past; Mike and Ross went to high school together (I won't say how long ago, LOL!!). It was so neat to find out last year that Ross lived about 20 minutes away from us. Ross and his lovely wife Erica invited us over to celebrate with 100 of their other friends and family, the addition of Hunter (who is 10) joining their family. What a heartwarming story too!! It makes me so happy to hear about these types of happy endings!! They are all so lucky to be a FOREVER family!!

Ross and Erica said NO gifts, but I could just not go and not bring a little something to celebrate this happy occasion; and who gets mad if you get a gift, right?! I made this card Saturday before the party (didn't want to make it baby~ish, since Hunter is 10), and put a AMC & Cold Stone giftcard inside so they can have a little family night.

enjoy the ride congrats adoption

When we got home, I realized that I had a Groupon, Shutterfly book that was going to expire that night at midnight (argh!! nothing like waiting until the very last minute, LOL!!), so I stayed up until 11pm finishing that project (which was quite fun and easy!!). I cannot wait to get it in the mail June 16-19th (probably will blog about it, LOL!!).

I have been doing a 30 day Photography Challenge this month; which I am really enjoying, if you want to check out my pic's my 365 blog is here (there is also a tab at the top of my blog). Today's challenge is to photograph myself with 13 things (gotta do some thinking for that one, LOL!!).

Enjoy today!!

college bound bug...

hi bloggy friends :)
I hope your week is off to a great start...I have been busy, busy, busy with work and other random stuff (some weeks just feel crazy). So I am going to make it quick today...

Mike and I are attending a graduation on Saturday night, for a guy at our church. So of course I needed a guy card for the occasion. I used my Enjoy the Ride set (don't you just love that little VW bug??). I paired Hawaiian Shores with Black and I have to say...I like it (very clean & simple). I also used several pop dots on the layers for some dimension (it looks like the blue layer is off center, due to the pop dot~trust me it isn't IRL, LOL!). All it needs now is some $$ tucked inside and we are good to go.

enjoy the ride graduate a

I don't have a lot to say today, so lets get on with the card. I recently submitted this one for a publication, but it didn't make the cut~oh well, I still like it. Really bright, cheery and colorful.

Mike has been busy organizing all our 2009 "stuff" to get ready to file our taxes (so excited to get all that junk out of my craft space [he shares a little portion of the room with me, LOL!] !!!)...my fingers are crossed we don't have to pay in this year~a refund would be GLORIOUS!!! I am thinking positive ;)

plain jane...

It's Monday already...
Boy those weekends really fly by~don't they??? I finally installed this on my computer (I have had if for 2 years, in the box on my shelf)...I have been doing a lot of masking in Photoshop (for my class), and this makes it so much easier!!! I think once I get the hang of it and learn the buttons I will really like it.

Here is a quick card for today...kinda a "plain jane" not really too "froofroo-ie" (is that a word, LOL!).

Congrats avacado polka dot

Mike and I rented this movie on Saturday night...it was pretty good (chick flick)...have I mentioned how lucky I am to have a hubby who watches chick flicks with me (I think he even likes them).
