I found a layout similar to this one on Pinterest (which is such a great place to help the creative juices start flowing when you haven't crafted in a while!!).  I love using patterned paper!!  I dug up some of my old Stampin' Up! paper (from my demonstrator days), and viola...this card came together really fast!!.

I have some blog changes coming in the near future (that I am excited about)...so stay tuned!!  I am excited to get back into blogging on a more regular basis!!

easy gift card holder...

Happy Monday!!
I had time to get a little crafty this weekend *woot*
I always try to do a little something for the peeps on the Hospitality Team at my church, and with Valentine's day coming up, I whipped up these cute little gift card holders.

I purchased some gift cards at Orange Leaf (because not everyone drinks coffee~gasp!!!) & Starbucks.  I pulled out some of my retired SU! paper (this series goes way back!!), and my nestability circle/scallop dies and these came together pretty fast!!

valentine gift card holder 2
valentine gift card holder 1

Here are the directions:
1.  Cut a piece of patterned paper 8 x 4 inches (score at 4 inches; fold).
2.  Use circle punch or nestability die to cut half circle on the top.
3.  I added a small clear bag to hold the gift card inside (purchased at Michael's in the cake decorating section); add a dot of adhesive to the bag to hold in place, adhere on the inside.
4.  use adhesive to glue sides together; fold.
5.  Insert gift card into clear bag, trim bag (if needed), fold and tape closed.
6.  Tie ribbon around the base.
7.  Cut out sentiment/scallop with nestabilities; adhere to gift card holder with a pop dot.  Viola!!!

I made the tags in Photoshop; and of course I will share!!

warm winter wishes...

Hi all,
I think I am finally on the mend~still not 100% but feeling so much better (thanks to the antibiotics!!).  I have been trying to get into the Christmas spirit these days, so I thought I would whip up a wintery card (even though it is 75 degrees here in AZ).  It is very clean and simple.  I used my large label nestability die and cut it in half for the top layer, then just tied it up with a bow!

winter wishes

Well that is about it from me today~I am hoping to work on my December Daily album tomorrow (it was supposed to be finished by then, *oh well*).  I will post the finished product soon!

Enjoy today!

sending warm thoughts...

Hi Friends!
I hope your week is off to a wonderful start!!  I have a quick post for you today.

Today's card was inspired by Maile's recent PTI release card HERE. I like LOVE her minimalist stamping style, it is so clean and pretty!!  Here is my version using Warm Happiness 2.

circle warm happiness

I have been busy organizing~which always makes me feel soooo good!!  Something about getting rid of stuff that you no longer need or use; makes me feel lighter and much more relaxed!!  I think that may be my OCD talking, *wink*

I have been organizing my closet, dresser, under the bed (lots of scrapbook supplies under there, LOL!).

Every time I get a new shirt/sweater/pants/jacket/etc, it always comes with an extra button, I have gotten into the habit of just throwing them in a drawer in my dresser, well that drawer was starting to become a little unmanageable!!  I decided to cut open all the little zip lock baggies and add those buttons to my stash!!  I seriously have never used one of these buttons in over a year, so I think it is safe to say, they are fair game for my cards!!!

And I think they look so much prettier stored in a mason jar!! button jar

celebrating Jess' Bday...

Happy Monday everyone!!
I hope you had a great weekend!! Mike and I had a great (short) visit to CT last week!! It was nice to get away, but it is always nice to come home!

Josh's girlfriend Jess celebrated her 20th birthday last week, but since Mike and I were leaving to go out of town, we pushed it to yesterday (since we usually celebrate birthdays on Sunday after church). Here are the favors I whipped up for the party. I found these jars at Hobby Lobby, and made the name tags in Adobe Illustrator, then just ran them thru my Cuttlebug with my Nestabilities circle/scallop circle dies~Easy Peasy!! They are filled with the fruity Tootsie Rolls, which my kids LOVE.

Here is the card I made for Jess~this one also came together really fast! I downloaded the subway art from Eighteen 25 and just shrunk it down in photoshop to fit my rectangle Nestabilities die. You can down load the image HERE.

happy birthday in pink...

Happy Monday!
Hope you had a FABULOUS weekend, mine was a whirlwind!! We celebrated Ashley's birthday on Saturday night, you can see a couple of photos HERE. It was a lot of FUN!! I love having everyone over for yummy food, chit chat and swimming!!

Yesterday I ran around returning/purchasing coffee makers, you can read about that HERE (if you want).

I whipped up this quick card for Ashley on Saturday morning (nothing like waiting until the last minute, huh?). It came together VERY fast, thanks to the free printable hybrid elements from Ali Edward's blog~go HERE to download them!! I used my Nestabilitie circle dies to cut out the image and just used a background stamp~Easy Peasy!!!

Today we celebrate Ashley's birthday at work~I have been eating lots of CAKE~YUM!! Good thing Kodi make me feel guilty if I don't walk him every day, LOL!!!

dusted off my out on a limb set...

I LOVE "that time of the month" over at Nichole's blog!! Last week she made a card using the Out on a Limb set and decided to pull out my dusty set as well!!! I never thought to turn the limb on it's side~she is so CLEVER!!!

out on a limb

Today I am hopefully making some Father's Day cards (nothing like waiting until the last minute, huh??). I also hope to have a few minutes to work on my Project Life album, since it seems to get pushed to the bottom of my list these days *sad face*

and for some randomness...Last night Josh and I took Kodi to the Bark Park~He Loves it (Kodi, and Josh too, LOL!!). Josh takes Kodi there a few times a week. I had never been and wanted to see Kodi in "action". He is such a crazy dog!! I think he has ADHD, it was fun to watch him run around without a leash and play with all the other dogs. I tried to snap a photo~but he was having too much fun for a photo shoot...maybe next time!!!

Forever family...

Happy Monday!!

On Saturday Mike and I were honored to celebrate the adoption of Hunter joining his forever family Ross and Erica. Facebook is so great for connecting you with lots of peeps from your past; Mike and Ross went to high school together (I won't say how long ago, LOL!!). It was so neat to find out last year that Ross lived about 20 minutes away from us. Ross and his lovely wife Erica invited us over to celebrate with 100 of their other friends and family, the addition of Hunter (who is 10) joining their family. What a heartwarming story too!! It makes me so happy to hear about these types of happy endings!! They are all so lucky to be a FOREVER family!!

Ross and Erica said NO gifts, but I could just not go and not bring a little something to celebrate this happy occasion; and who gets mad if you get a gift, right?! I made this card Saturday before the party (didn't want to make it baby~ish, since Hunter is 10), and put a AMC & Cold Stone giftcard inside so they can have a little family night.

enjoy the ride congrats adoption

When we got home, I realized that I had a Groupon, Shutterfly book that was going to expire that night at midnight (argh!! nothing like waiting until the very last minute, LOL!!), so I stayed up until 11pm finishing that project (which was quite fun and easy!!). I cannot wait to get it in the mail June 16-19th (probably will blog about it, LOL!!).

I have been doing a 30 day Photography Challenge this month; which I am really enjoying, if you want to check out my pic's my 365 blog is here (there is also a tab at the top of my blog). Today's challenge is to photograph myself with 13 things (gotta do some thinking for that one, LOL!!).

Enjoy today!!

warm happiness too and another tag...

Happy Friday Blog Friends!! How was your week?? I have really been messed up "day wise" since my 3 day weekend (last week)...plus I am working today (I usually have Friday's off, so I am still a little messed up, it feels like Thursday to me, LOL!!).

I pulled out my Warm Happiness Too stamp set and another tag and went to work; I had the twine pictured differently in my mind, but it didn't seem to work on the card ( I improvised). Sometimes I have to leave it alone and then come back and look at it with fresh eyes. I am glad I did, cause I kinda like it now ;)

My poor hubby is SLOWLY getting better, now that he is taking some medication, I have read that it can take up to 3 weeks to start feeling better (good grief!! 1 week down and 2 weeks to go *woot*). Valley Fever is no fun!!!

Well I hope you have a GREAT weekend!!! I am photographing a baby shower on Saturday and have lots of the usual stuff to do (groceries, housework, laundry)...GOOD TIMES!!

sewing in a circle ;)

Hi all!
Today is going to be kinda quick!! It has been a interesting week!! I mentioned in my last post that I was hoping to find out the results of my hubby's lab tests, since he has not been feeling well for a few weeks (we think it may be Valley Fever, but not sure); Well we still don't know! He called the lab on Monday to find out if his results had been faxed to the doctor's office and they said that one of the tests that was ordered can take up to a week for the results, and that the doc requested to get all the results together~argh!! So I am hoping we find out today, cause the poor guy is feeling pretty lousy :(

Also last week (the same day Mike had his blood drawn), some sort of pipe fell off his car, so we dropped it off at the shop, and they said it would take 5 days just for the part to come in, then maybe a day to fix it~good grief!!! So I have been getting chauffeured around (I am realizing how much I dislike depending on people for rides~thank goodness my kids like me and drive me around), since Mike is using my vehicle. I do have to say that I am really very blessed to have my own car~and boy do I miss it!! there is Never a dull moment at our house, LOL!!

Here is a quick card I made over the weekend~since Mike has not really been up to going anywhere or staying up very late, (because he feels so bad) I have had some extra stamping time. I had my sewing machine out on my dining room table, so of course I had to sew a little on this card *smile*

Hope your Wednesday is FABULOUS!!!

you're too kind...

Hi all,
I hope you had a fabulous weekend!! Today is going to be a quickie...since I am updating this at 11pm on Sunday night~WAY past my bedtime, LOL!!!

Yesterday Ashley and I were given a really nice gift from some friends of ours. They had tickets to this show, and were unable to go~so they gave them to us; it was a great show and we had a lot of fun (thanks Mike & Cindy!!!).

Nate's parents were visiting for a few days last week, and we hooked up with them on Friday night for dinner~it was so nice to catch up!!! Ashley and Nate took them to this, and said it was really interesting~so I think Mike and I may go on a date night next weekend and check it out for ourselves.

Here is a quick card I made for my bosses, who spoiled us for Administrative Professionals Day.

news print thanks

Have a Marvelous Monday!!!

smile...

Hi all!
Did you happen to catch the Super Moon on Saturday night?? My photos did not come out as planned!! You can read about my failed attempt here.
My photo shoot however went pretty smoothly~which is always good *smile* I will hopefully have some photos up on my other blog some time in the next week or two.

Here is a quick card I made last night~I pulled out some really old SU! designer paper (do you remember this one??). I had a little problem in the past~I used to hoard my designer paper terribly (don't judge me, LOL!)!! I finally realized that there is always bigger and better stuff coming out~so just cut it!!! It feels nice to actually use some of it, LOL!!! I also pulled out my Everyday Button Bits stamp set (which hasn't been inked up very much lately). I call this my smile card with a cherry on top (cheesy, I know, LOL!!).

smile with a cherry

I have today off~and I am hoping to re-arrange/(somewhat organize) Josh's room (yes, he is aware of this, LOL!). Wish me luck!!!

Have a Fabulous Monday!!!

more beautiful blooms II...

Happy Friday!!
I have been having so much fun with my new phone!!! I think I am addicted, LOL!!! There really is an App for everything *smile* Yesterday at work, I wanted to try out my new photo booth app...if you read my 365 blog, you might have seen this photo *wink*

Do you have any exciting plans for the weekend?? Mike and I are going out to dinner with some friends from church~always fun!!! Then the usual weekend stuff. I hope to get a head start on my Picture Inspiration lesson; last week I really procrastinated (probably because it was to do a self portrait~which is always hard!!! I like to be behind the camera, LOL!).

Here is a card I forgot to post last week!! I am really loving the pastel spring colors (aqua mist is my all time fav!!) :) and of course I used one of my favorite stamp sets.

Enjoy today my blog Friends!!

Happy {heart} Day!!

Happy Valentine's Day Friends!! I hope you had a fabulous weekend. I was busy with birthday and Valentine stuff (which was lots of fun!!). I got to get a little crafty~which is always a plus *smile*. Friday night I made one of Mike's favorite dinners for his actual birthday, and on Sunday the kids all came over to help us celebrate. In between all the celebrating~I whipped up a few Valentine's for my favorite peeps!!

I saw this post a while back, and thougth it would be cute to make it into a Valentine's Day theme box.

I made these for the girlies. I found the containers at the Dollar Tree, and filled them up with red, pink, and white goodies (along with a Starbuck's gift card). Lots of fun to put together too!!

damask thinking of you...

Well the weekend is here~*woot woot*!!!
Do you have anything fun planned? My favorite hubby (and only hubby, btw... LOL!) is celebrating his birthday today, so I am going to be busy picking up stuff to make his favorite dinner tonight and planning our family get together for Sunday (pic's will follow). I have finally come up with a theme for his party (thanks to Ashley for helping me out!!).

Here is a quick card that I made over the weekend~I saw Amy's card here, and just LOVED the layout!! I just love the simplicity of it!!

turning a new leaf~Valentine style...

Hello there...
Hope your weekend was Marvelous! Did you watch the Superbowl?? Our church had a Superbowl party last night, but at the last minute I decided to stay home (I am not really a football fan), which ended up being really nice! I love having the house to myself sometimes (well all the pets were still here, LOL!). I did some laundry and surfed the web for a couple of hours (just wasting time~it was sorta fun!!).

My hubby is going to celebrate his birthday on Friday (2/11) and I am having such a hard time coming up with a theme (birthdays are special in the Clark house!!), he is so hard to buy for/theme a party around!! . I am hoping today I will get some inspiration~since I don't have much time left!! Let me just say when you google "party ideas for guys" the results are not really what I had in mind, LOL!!

I have a growing list of cards to make~so luckily I had a little time to get "inky" on Saturday night while Mike was studying. I whipped up this little number for my hubs for Valentine's Day (hope he doesn't check out my blog!!). I popped the hearts up with some pop dots (which I had to cut very small). I tried not to girl it up too much!!

turning a new leaf valentine_0001

I am thinking of starting my 365 blog again...I have really missed being creative with my camera and decided to jump back on the POTD (photo of the day/week) wagon. I am going to play along here too, which seems like fun!! If you want to play too~join the Flickr Group here.

Ok Friends...make today a GREAT one!!
