digi cd album...

So here is the digi project I was working on last week. I got the template here. I saw it and just had to give it a try. I decided to highlight our family's 2007 events. It was so easy and I completed it in about a day (total time spent). Once you finish your pages, print them off (I did two to a page) on 8.5 x 11 sheet of photo paper, cut them out (I used a circle cutter, but scissors are fine), glue (I used Modge Podge) them to an old cd (luckily Josh had tons he didn't want anymore), give the edges a quick sand after it is dry, then give it a coat of Modge Podge, let it dry, I punched with my crop-a-dile, and used a binder ring to hold it together. I think these would make great gifts...don't you? (mom...I am going to make one for you, so act surprised when you get it).

Here are a few pictures of the inside:

If you are interested in learning how to digi scrap in Photoshop, look here. I am anxious to sign up for the 3rd class series next month. I have learned so much from JS's classes!

Thanks for stopping by today.

(*someone from my church had a great idea for getting cd's for this project...go to the store and pick up the free aol cd's...great idea!)

Sale a Bration is on the way...

I love Sale a Bration time (Feb 1 ~ March 17)!!! Every year SU! has SAB this is when you can earn free stamp sets with every $50 you spend. And this year you will not be disappointed with the sets! They even have rub ons! If you don't have a demonstrator and would like to order, please feel free to contact me. You can view the current catalogs online here

One of the "perks" of being a demonstrator, is you get to order the sets early (so you have time to make samples, etc). I ordered 2 of the sets, because I am going to earn the others, lol! This one is called Friendship Blooms and I had fun using it! I cannot wait to ink it up again.

I stamped the flower with white craft ink on purely pomegranate paper (and did the same with the leaves on wild wasabi), then I cut them out and popped them up with a dimensional. I also added a pink iridescent brad to the center of the flower.

Thanks for stopping by today!

supplies used: (all SU! unless noted) Friendship Blooms stamp set; purely pomegranate/wild wasabi/blue bayou/kraft/natural ivory cs; white craft/blue bayou ink; purely pomegranate double stitched ribbon; iridescent ice brad

For my hubby...

Here is the card I made Mike for our Anniversary...I really tried not to "girl" it up, but I just love ribbon so much that I had to put some one (at least it is brown). I used my new Out on a Limb stamp set from Papertrey (I think this one is going to be one of my favorites!) it has such great wording, and I just love the branch image. On this card I decided to add hearts to the branches instead of the leaves or flowers that come with the set. I stamped them in red and pink, and on the red hearts I added some stickles (it had to have some bling *wink*). I was happy with the end result, and I think he liked it too (he is a good husband and always ohhh's and ahhh's over my creations).

I had yesterday off...I decided to take the day off to catch up on some of the stuff I didn't get done over the weekend. I went grocery shopping and to Costco (all in one day), and if you know me...I hate to grocery shop! It feels good to have it all done and put away. I also did some other things around the house, but did not get to my stamping...bummer!

So it is back to work today...at least it will be a short week!

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a super day!

Valentine Week Continued...

Happy Monday!
Here is my criss-cross treat container that we made yesterday at class (finally got it photographed). I got the pattern here. Nichole Heady has such great paper craft ideas!
I hope you had a great weekend, my Valentine's class was a lot of fun. It has been a while since I have done a class, but it was just like riding a bike. It went pretty smoothly, except for a little measurement problem I had with my treat box...no biggie, caught it in time to salvage them.
Mike and I had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary on Friday night, I took him out for a nice steak dinner and then surprised him with a couples massage...at first he wasn't sure he wanted a massage, but after I told him he had to go and would enjoy it, he was a good sport. We both had a great evening together.
The kids surprised us with a gift card to Ruth Chris restaurant, if you have never eaten there, it is AWESOME! They have the best steak I have ever eaten (and everything else is awesome too!) I also love their chopped salad...so yummy and such a pretty presentation. I think we may go Saturday night. Wow two dates in a row, am I getting spoiled!

Thanks for stopping by today!~Have a great Monday!

supplies used: (all SU! unless noted) Sweet on You/Sweet & Sassy stamp sets; Pretty in Pink/Cool Caribbean/Whisper White CS; Valentine Designer Paper; Regal Rose/Tempting Turquoise Marker; Circle/Scallop Punch; Blue Ribbon (Michael's); small cello bags

Valentine Week (day five)

Here is the final card we will be making for my Valentine class this Sunday. We are also making a treat container (that I didn't photograph yet...I will post it next week). I used the retired stamp set {Like it a Latte} which is one of my favorites...probably because I LOVE coffee (especially Starbucks White Chocolate Mocha's)! I also had some of last years Valentine designer paper from SU! that I thought I would try to use up. It is hard to see from the photo, but I cut the heart out and used a dimensional to pop it up.
Today is mine and Mike's anniversary...it is hard to believe we have been married for 22 years (and we dated for 3 years). It has been quite an adventure to say the least. I have a special night planned for him (I hope he likes it), since he reads my blog, I will post the details on Monday.
I have lots to do today...plus prepare for Sundays class.
Thanks for stopping by today, and have a wonderful weekend!

Valentine Week (day four)

Here is card number 4 planned for my Valentine class. I cased this card from Tracy Durcan you can see her card here I just changed it a little. This is one or my favorites, I really like the Chocolate/Pink/Red combo and of course the wide chocolate ribbon. It is hard to see from the picture, but the strip of pink cardstock was pierced using my SU Piercing Tool/Template (such a handy tool!)

Tonight is our Family Dinner night...Everyone comes over for dinner and TV. I am making sloppy joe's and tater tots (I am sure it will be a hit with the kids, lol!). We have to catch up on 2 American Idol shows from this week. I think the first few episode are so hilarious! It should be a lot of fun! We look forward to spending time together each Thursday and Sunday now that the kids are grown and so busy with work and school (and Ashley is out on her own).
Thanks for stopping by today!

Have a Fabulous Thursday...Friday is just around the corner!

Valentine Week (day three) and some exciting news!

Happy Wednesday...we are half way through the week!

I am so excited to announce that Papercrafts Magazine has chosen 3 of my submissions to publish in thier upcoming publication of Holiday Cards and More issue! I was jumping up and down when I got the email *happy dance* This is my first time being published, so I am super excited!

*(note to my blog subscribers...so sorry for the extra (duplicate) post last night...I was trying to remove some images from my blog until they are published and accidentally hit publish post...oops!)
okay, now for the card...

This is the third card we will be stamping at my Valentine class this Sunday. It is kind of simple, but I think it is a fun card. It is hard to see in the picture, but the heart is cut out and popped up with a dimensional. I used my retired "A Light Heart" set for the stem which reads "from the bottom of my heart"

I hope you have a super day!

supplies used: (all SU!) Polka Dot Bkgrd/A Light Heart (retired)/Happy Hearts (retired) stamp sets; Kraft/Whisper White/Basic Black CS; Real Red/Basic Black/White (craft) ink; Red wide grosgrain Ribbon; Dimensionals.

Valentine Week (day two)

Here is the second valentine card we will be making Sunday for my stamping class. I really like the simple layout of this card, and or course the swirly stamp.

I don't know about you, but Mondays are always a little rough for me, once I get them over with the rest of the week is a breeze. I am so glad it is Tuesday, and we are on our way to Friday *wink*.

Last night Mike and I enjoyed our winter ritual...which is watching TV (unfortunately there is nothing good on these days), and a cup of hot cocoa. It has been pretty chilly here in Phoenix...okay, don't laugh but yesterday it was in the 60's (maybe even 50's) and it was chilly! (can you believe I am originally from Connecticut? I am turning into a wimp). The nights are sometimes in the upper 30's which my kids think is way too cold, lol!

Have a fabulous Tuesday!

Supplies used: (all SU!) Priceless/Warm Words stamp sets; Whisper White/Blue Bayou/Soft Sky/Purely Pomegranate CS; Blue Bayou/Purely Pomegranate/Soft Sky ink; Double stitched Pomegranate ribbon.

Valentine Week (day one)

Happy Monday all!

This Sunday is my Valentine Card Class...here is one of the cards we will be making, since we will be making 5 cards and 1 treat container, it looks like this week's blogging will be dedicated to Valentine's Day projects.

I used my new red stripped ribbon, and of course I LOVE it! I am going to have to order all the colors now, lol! I don't know what my obsession is with ribbon and patterned paper, but it is definitely becoming a big problem *wink*.

I have been busy in my craft room all weekend...Mike worked on Saturday, so I was busy creating all day, I even forgot to eat lunch (that is not like me, lol!). I am putting the finishing touches on a digi project that I hope to share with you next week.

I hope you all have a terrific Monday...especially if you have the day off (I wish I did!).

supplies used: (all SU!) So Very stamp set (retired); Whisper White/Real Red/Basic Black CS; Basic Black ink; Red Stripped ribbon; oval punches; corner rounder.

one of a kind

Happy Friday all!
Wednesday I was able to use some of my new stuff...I really like this new SU! set "one of a kind", so I think that I will be using it a lot. When I placed my order I keyed it in twice (don't know what I was doing on that day), see how much I liked it I ordered 2 of them, lol! I sent it back for another set, which will hopefully be on the way to me next week. And check out the Berry Bliss Designer Paper...This is definitely one of my new fav's (I *heart* pink and brown!!!).

I am so glad it is Friday, although I have lots to do...you know the usual stuff (clean, groceries, laundry, iron, STAMP, etc).

I hope you have an Awesome weekend, and I will see you here bright and early on Monday with another post.

I have a neat project in the works...(well still in my brain at the moment), I hope to start working on it next week), a little digi scrapping.

another birdie...

Yesterday was so nice...I ended up taking a personal day to finish up a few small projects that have been hanging around...I don't know about you, but it seems like those small 10 min projects just seem to pile up. It was so nice to take care of them! I also started some of the projects for my Valentine class (Jan 27th), so be on the look out for those next week.

SU! is getting ready for SAB (sale-a-bration) which is Feb 1 - March 17th (send me an email if you want more info about SAB), I LOVE that time of year! I am a little late in ordering my sets (demo's have their benefits, lol!), anyway I heard through the grapevine that these sets are pre-cut! Wow! I am so excited about that!

I needed another birthday card and this set "a little bird told me" seems to be my go to set these days. I think he is so cute, (especially paired with cutie pie paper).

I hope you have a terrific Thursday...(so glad tomorrow is Friday!)

supplies used: (all SU!) A Little Bird Told Me stamp set; Purely Pomegranate/So Saffron/Bashful Blue (bird)/Whisper White CS; Cutie Pie DP; Chocolate Chip ink; Pomegranate double stitched ribbon; circle/notch punch

more papertrey

I know I have said it before, but I really love my Papertrey stamps! Especially the fact that they are clear, so your stamped images end up right where you want them, and they are stored on a cd case, and are ready to go when you get them. Don't get me wrong, I still love my SU! wood mounted stamps (but cutting them out is such a pain for me! I like to open them up and start stamping! I guess I need to work on Patience).

This card uses the Spiral Bouquet set, it is one of my fav's! I especially love the word stamps in the set, so elegant!
Nichole Heady is such a talented artist and designer. Her stamps are so versatile, check them out here. She has a new release on the 15th of each month.

still using my patterned paper...

Here is another card using my Embrace Life stamp set. I made a set of these for my MIL, her birthday is today. I didn't make her a set of monogrammed cards, like I said a few posts ago, I decided on 6 of these all occasion cards. They look better "irl" I stamped the image on shimmery cardstock, and then added Crystal Effects to the petals to make them pop.

I am still using my Ginger Blossom paper from SU! I (heart) patterned paper and have my SU order arriving today with some new paper (yipee!).

I am going to be hosting a Valentine's Day card class in a couple of weeks, so stay tuned for my projects...I LOVE making Valentine's cards. I was thinking about that the other day...I think that may have been where my love of cards all started. I remember making cards for all my classmates (remember red construction paper and heart doilies?) and one year we all made our own mailboxes out of shoe boxes. We kept those on our desk and then we walked around and delivered our Valentine's to the appropriate mailboxes...so fun! Then I would bring them home and go through them all again...isn't it fun getting cards!

Hang in there....

Happy Monday...(Yuck!) can you believe the weekend is already over? Boy that went fast! I feel like I cram about 4 days worth of work into my weekend (cleaning, grocery shopping, laundry, cooking, yard work, the list goes on and on). This one was no exception, I didn't get any stamping done *insert sad face here*. I did however get a lot of organization done in my stamping space, it is all nice and clean, just waiting for me to come and mess it up, lol!

Thank goodness I had some cards I hadn't posted yet. This one I made for a friend of mine going through a tough time. I really like the simplicity of it! It is somewhat of a cased card from Kristina Werner (love her stuff!). It is hard to see from the picture but I added stickles to the little hearts...I love sparkly cards!

I hope you have a Marvelous Monday!

Happy Friday!

Well it is finally Friday! All I can say is WHOO HOO! This was a long week! I am hoping to get some organizing done in my craft room, but I also need to get some stamping done...we will see which one wins out *wink*

Here is a card I made for my niece Allison, here birthday is this Saturday and she is going to be 13 (a teenager). I really love this little bird stamp, and of course the patterned paper (cutie pie).

Today we are having the hole in our ceiling patched and textured (we had a crack in one of the upstairs tubs that leaked right through to the kitchen ceiling), Mike replaced the tub and took care of that part, but is hiring out the sheet-rock and texture part so it will all blend in. I am so happy it will be all finished today! Now I just have to wait for Mike to paint everything...then onto the next project, lol!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
See you back here on Monday

the last of my monogrammed cards...

Here are the last of my monogrammed cards...I promise I won't post any more for a while, lol! I really like the bright color combo of these. They were a lot of fun to make.
All day yesterday, I thought it was the 10th...have you ever done that? I went on Nichole's blog for Papertrey Ink and was wondering why she didn't have her sneak peak posted...Did she forget? Then when I went to get my haircut, my stylist said something about she couldn't believe it was already January 9th! I said isn't it the 10th...NOPE! Oh well, if you get a chance today check out Papertrey's sneak peak...which posts on the 10th of every month (stamp sets are available for purchase on the 15th of each month). So I am going to go through work today writing 1/10/08 again, lol!

Have a Terrific Tuesday...January 10th

Monogrammed Cards #3

Here are some more monogrammed cards (I hope you aren't getting bored with them). This is part of the set I made for Ashley using SU!'s new Designer paper Bali Breeze. Isn't this one pretty too? I feel like I am making great progress cutting into all this new paper (and not hoarding it, lol!).

Today is a half day for me at work...ahhhh! I am going to get my haircut, then home to hopefully clean up my stamping area a little (it looks like a tornado went through my stamp room) and do some stamping...my stamps are feeling neglected these days! I have a few Birthday cards to make and a monogrammed set of cards for my MIL (I promise, I won't post those for a little while, lol!).

I found this neat website yesterday, check it out here. It is an organizing web site...gotta love that! I love to organize (I know...I am a little OCD!), anyway...there are free printable forms, which I downloaded some menu planning forms, I am hoping to check it out further over the weekend! January is just a good organizing month!
I hope your Wednesday is Wonderful!

monogrammed cards #2

Here are some more cards using my Papertrey monogram set. This is the last design (left) in the set I made for my mom (6 cards = 3 designs) *see yesterdays post for the other ones*
The card to the right is one of the cards I made for Ashley's set (she got 6 different designs, since I was on a roll, lol!).
I hope that they use them (okay mom and Ashley...don't hoard them, I can make more!).
I am having fun making these gift sets for people. My MIL's birthday is next week, and I thought I would make her some too! At this rate everyone in my family is going to get some, lol!

My SU! up-line, Lori made me some cards for part of my Christmas gift, and I thought it was so nice! (no one ever makes me cards) It was so great to have a set of cards to use after the holidays (thanks Lori!). She inspired me to make gift sets of cards for people.
Have a great Tuesday, and I will see you back here on Wednesday with...you guessed it...more monogrammed cards*wink* (I promise I have some other non-monogrammed projects up my sleeve).

on a monogrammed card roll...

I have been having a lot of fun creating monogrammed cards...I made some for my mom and Ashley. I received one of the monogrammed sets from Papertrey this Christmas (thanks mom!). Since I started inking up the letters...I couldn't stop, lol!

Here are a couple I made from my mom (I will probably have about 3 days worth of posts *wink*).
I know I have said this before...but I LOVE this new Designer Paper from SU! I think it is so pretty!
I am sad to say I didn't get any stamping done this weekend (insert sad face), but I did make a trip to IKEA, I love looking around in there, (boy is it easy to get lost!). I purchased some organizational stuff for my craft room, which I cannot wait to get it unwrapped and get organizing! And I also purchased a small desk so Mike can have a small corner in my space. I will take pictures once it is done.
Oh well back to work today...I will have to work 4 days in a row...*gasp* (boy have I enjoyed my two back to back holiday weekends!).

Have a great Monday

Happy Friday!
I am hoping to stamp again today! I have been on a roll, and my stamp room looks like it, lol! It is a mess!

I am also hoping to narrow down my list and make my first order from SU!'s new catty. I definitely want some of the new rub-on's, and new DS paper, and of course stamps...I am in trouble!

Here is another card using my new set Cause for Celebration (Hostess level 2). I LOVE making Valentine's Day cards! It is such a fun holiday.

cause for celebration...

Yesterday was back to work...it was a little rough getting out of bed at 4:45 am, but I am glad to get back into my normal routine. I even did my 3 mile walk when I got home. I took my new ipod and "jammed" the whole time...I think it helped me walk faster, lol!

I was so excited to finally ink up my new stamp set "Cause For Celebration" Stampin'Up! allowed demonstrators to order a level 2 hostess set from their new Spring & Summer Catalog, this is the one I picked. I had to add some of the new designer paper...I love that stuff!!! It is so pretty! I have been adding it to all my cards, so I hope I don't bore you over the next few posts, lol! at least I am not hoarding it *wink*

I hope you have a wonderful day! Can you believe the weekend is almost here? Gotta love those short work weeks!

Embrace Life

I hope everyone had a great day off yesterday! I got my tree/Christmas decorations taken down and put away, cleaned and organized a little, and did some stamping...ahhh!

I have enjoyed my last two long weekends! I could get used to that, lol! At least it is a short work week, that way I can ease back into my schedule*wink*
If you haven't had a chance to check out Stampin'Up!'s new Spring and Summer collection click here Today is the first day to place orders out of the new catalog, and I am taking mine to work with me today to make my list!
*note: If you would like to place an order and do not have a demonstrator, you can email me at the address above*

Today's card uses a stamp from SU!'s new collection called embrace life. When I first saw this set, I knew I had to have it, but then once I got it, I was a little nervous about it...I put my fears aside, and was happy with the results. I have been on a Groovy Guava kick (I am just warning you, lol!).

Have a Wonderful day!

Happy New Year!

Just wanted to wish you all a Happy 2008! Did you make until 12 o'clock? I didn't!

I hope you are off to a good start with your resolutions...I don't make them anymore, just because I don't want to let myself down. Instead I set goals (hopefully realistic ones).

Here are a few of mine for 2008:

Read more (Bible and all my new books)

walk 2-3 miles 5 times a week (this kind of took the back seat in December)

Complain less (thanks for the bracelet Sue!)

Be more positive

Stamp more!!!

I did get a lot of things crossed off my to do list yesterday, and have lots more for today, I did some stamping yesterday and plan on doing some more today...so stay tuned for some new projects.

I am updating my blog for 2008, so please be patient if the colors and format change over the next few days.

See you here on Wednesday with some new stuff!
