TGIF!

Happy Friday all!
Sorry that I haven't posted in a couple days...I have had the stomach flu (YUCK!). Josh was sick on Tuesday night and all day Wednesday and Thursday I was sick! I think I am finally on the mend.
Someone from my church, who works for a hotel, needed some wedding favors for an upcoming event. She asked me for a few ideas. So here is the first one...a chocolate bar wrapper. I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the paper, and used my PTI set Wedding Day.
I hope you have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by!!
Supplies Used (all SU! unless noted): Wedding Day Set (PTI); Soft Sky/Whisper White Cardstock; Soft Sky/Basic Black ink; Black Gingham Ribbon; Cuttlebug

celebrate!

It's Wednesday already...boy the week is going fast...lol! I don't know about you, but I get so confused when it is a short week...I kept feeling like yesterday was Monday!

I am loving this flower image from the Papertrey stamp set Text Box. For today's card, I stamped the flower in three different colors and added Stardust Stickles to the centers for some Sparkle.

I have been kind of unmotivated these past few weeks...with exercising (that is easy to become unmotivated about!), stamping and scrapping. Today I am going to use my elliptical for 20 minutes and hopefully get back into a routine...plus bathing suit season is upon us...arghhh! Hopefully once I start exercising again I will have more energy to stamp and scrap!

If you like Weight Watchers, I found this cookbook at Costco last week. It has some great recipes (all the points values are on the website)! Plus the website is fun too! You can find it here. I definitely plan on making the onion rings this week (2 points). I'll let you know how they are.

I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday and Thanks for stopping by!

hats off...

Happy Tuesday Everyone!
I hope you had a relaxing weekend! Mike and I finished painting the ceiling in the kitchen/family room...boy, that was a big job! we moved all the big furniture into the dining room and hung plastic all around the walls (so it wouldn't splatter on everything), while Mike was trimming around the edges...I went out and weeded the front yard...it was a pretty productive day! We grilled ribs and had corn on the cob for dinner and then finished off the day by watching a the movie called The Land of Women.

On to the card...I needed a graduation card and I realized that I don't have very many stamps with graduation images. So I pulled out the hostess set Event Ful and used the "hat's off" stamp. I liked how it turned out and the simplicity of it...It is hard to see from the photo, but I stamped the cap image onto Soft Sky cardstock and cut it out, then popped it up with a dimensional.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Happy Memorial Day!

Happy Memorial Day!
Isn't it nice to have a long weekend? I just love it!
Although Mike and I are not doing anything really fun...we are painting the ceiling in our kitchen/dining room, (Mike is painting, I am supervising, lol!). I may try to get some digi scrapping/stamping done...but not sure (gonna play it by ear), we may just watch movies and eat (some of our best activities, lol!).
I was busy stamping over the weekend, so I have some stamped goodies to post this week! so stay tuned!!

And take a moment to day to remember our men and women in the military...because our freedom was not free!

have you heard of Bento?

TGIF! It is finally Friday! I am so glad that the long weekend is here!!! Normally I have Friday's off, but with Ashley in Florida, I am still filling in. It will be nice to get back to my regular work schedule next week...I do have to say waking up later and going in to work for 9:30 has been kind of a nice change (I do prefer my 7:30-3:30 though).

Unfortunately I didn't have time to photograph my latest stamping projects...so I thought I would post some pretty pictures of Bento Lunches. I just recently discovered this way of packing lunches, and I think it is way cool!!!! Although, I don't know who has time to create these beautiful lunches each and every day. I usually eat one of these for lunch. I would love to open up my lunch box and find a lunch like this! I truly believe that you eat with your eyes, and well, I would probably overeat if I had a lunch like this ever day. They do intrigue me! and I may try to doctor up my lunches next week.

On a sad note, I just found out yesterday about the tragic death of Steven Curtis Chapman's daughter. More about it here *if you have a moment today lift up their family in your thoughts/prayers. (*I don't read that blog...it just had great pictures of the Chapman Family).

Enjoy your Holiday weekend!

fun filled thank you's...

Hi everyone!
It is Thursday and I am really looking forward to a long weekend! We don't have much planned, but I am hoping that my hubby will be painting our kitchen ceiling (from our recent repairs...see here). Other than that I plan on doing some organizing/stamping/digi scrapping.

Since Josh celebrated his birthday last week, he was in need of some thank you cards. I wanted to use orange, since that is one of his new favorite colors, and since tempting turquoise goes so well with it, it was decided. I wanted to make them birthday-like, so I pulled out my fun filled stamp set. I tried not to "girl" them up too much, but I had to add some ribbon and a scalloped border...Josh didn't complain, lol!

Have a Terrific Thursday!
Thanks for visiting!!

Supplies used (all SU!): Fun Filled/Small Sayings stamps sets; Tempting Turquoise/Only Orange/Whisper White Cardstock; Tempting Turquoise/Gable Green/Only Orange ink; Dot's & Dashes Designer Paper; Orange Striped Ribbon; corner rounder punch.

more berry sorbet...

Hi all!
I hope your Wednesday is off to a great start...I usually have a short day at work on Wednesdays, but with Ashley in Florida, I am working 9-5 (I might need a nap when I get home, lol!).

Well someone turned on the HOT switch here in AZ, I always forget how the summer just one day happens (I am not complaining, I really don't mind it, since it is a dry heat, ha ha!). It has been 105-108 degrees the past couple of days, we go from 80-90's to over 100...it is kinda crazy! Our pool is almost 82 degrees, which means I may even break out the bathing suit this weekend and take a dip.

Today's card uses the same stamp set from Monday's post, Textbox. I never really noticed this flower image in the set before, but I really like it! I also used one of my new favorite colors...berry sorbet. I added some Stardust Stickles to the center of the mini flowers...they needed some sparkle.

I have a few graduation cards to make today...I hope I have time tonight (with the American Idol finale and all), my vote is for David Cook!

Have a wonderful Wednesday! Thanks for stopping by!

grid technique...

Well we survived Monday! Today I am working the later shift at work, since Ashley is away this week in Florida, with her friends from college...lucky her!

It will be nice to sleep in a little, but I am sure I will not like staying at work until 5pm! I can handle it for one week though, lol!

I wanted to try this technique that was featured on Splitcoast last week. I thought it was kind of cool! I also cased Beate's card, since I just love anything that uses chocolate chip and blue (or pink). I just changed out the stamp sets.

It was a pretty easy card...and the grid technique is really fun! I am sure that I will be making more of them!

My Friend, Cindy (hi Cindy), game me a mini lesson on Sunday on how to operate my camera in manual mode...I am having fun trying different things, and actually using some of the features. It is kind of fun not always using the auto mode! I am hoping to start taking a photo a day in June (we will see if I can keep up!). I figure that way I will get more familiar with my camera and hopefully get some great pic's in the process!

Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

Proud Mom Alert....

Happy Monday all!

Well it has been another busy weekend for me!

Our church has been collecting water for the Phoenix Rescue Mission for a few months. The goal was 10,000 bottles of water (that is quite a large goal for our small church), I am happy to report that yesterday when the truck came to the church to collect all the water we had well over 11,000 bottles! Isn't that amazing? Pastor Eric also from the PRM spoke at the service and shared his story...it was pretty awesome to hear how a rescue mission literally saved him from the streets of Chicago. It makes ya feel pretty good to know you can help out in such a small way...just a few bottles of water.

Okay...proud mom alert! For a few months Josh, my cute son, has been putting together and practicing with some of his friends in a band for our youth group at church. Well yesterday they lead the entire adult church worship service, and I must say "they were AWESOME!" of course I had my camera with me and wanted to post a pic.

And I did manage to get a few cards stamped here and there over the weekend...I needed a few thank you cards. This one is for a new friend of mine from church. I used one of my Papertrey stamps sets (Text Box), I haven't used this one in a while, so it was fun inking it up! I used the Berry Sorbet Perfect Match collection (also from PTI).

Have a Terrific Monday and thanks for stopping by!

Bright Birthday...

Happy Friday everyone!!!
I am so glad it is the weekend, they can just not get here fast enough! I like my job and all, but it is so nice to have two days of stamping/scrapping/moving watching and relaxing (and housework, shopping, yard work...blah!).

Here is another birthday card...this color scheme is totally out of my comfort zone! I think I have all my original packages of these bold bright colors (with the exception of Real Red). I am more of a neutral/pastel gal. But, I needed a fun birthday card...So bright it is. I just love these birthday packages in this Birthday Whimsy set, they are so whimsical, lol!

Enjoy your weekend...I heard that we are going to reach the triple digits here in Phoenix this weekend...I don't mind, though. I will take hot over snow any day!

Thanks for visiting!

Supplies used: (all SU! unless noted): Birthday Whimsy stamp set; Yoyo Yellow/Tempting Turquoise/Whisper White cardstock; Yoyo Yellow/Only Orange/Real Red/Tempting Turquoise ink; Red Striped ribbon.

birthday sparkle...

Our cable and Internet were out for about 6 hours yesterday...can you believe that? Boy, how we have become so dependant on those things! Mike was home around 2:30 yesterday, since we had an appointment to have our air conditioning units inspected (they are getting kinda old, and the downstairs unit hasn't been cooling quite as well). $500 later we have some freon added, a new switch of some sort and another appointment to follow up in a few months...CRAZY! but A/C is one thing you do not want to be without here in Phoenix!!!! So back to my Internet/cable outage...Mike and I were both home and just sitting on the couch, we couldn't get online or watch TV (crazy!) it was kind of funny! I decided to do some digi scrapping since I didn't need the Internet to do that. It was so nice when I heard the little "beep" my computer does when you get a new email...for 6 hours without Internet access, I got about 20 emails, lol!

I did get a little stamping time in yesterday morning...it was nice getting my hands inked up again, ha ha! I still need to make some more cards, so hopefully on Friday or Saturday.

okay...onto the card: I made this one for Josh's birthday last Friday. I used my new Papertrey in color collection. I really am loving their polka dotted ribbon...so cute! It is hard to see in the photo but I added Stardust Stickles to the cake (and popped it up with a dimensional) and candles...it was just asking for some "bling".

I hope you have a great day! Thanks for visiting!

more digi...

Happy Wednesday all...
I hope you are having a wonderful day. I am going into work late today (I love Wednesdays...it is our slow day at the office), and I have plans to do some stamping this morning. I have several thank you cards to make, so make sure to stop in tomorrow and the rest of the week for some stamping/card posts.

I have really been on a roll with my digi scrapping! I decided to start scrapping my most recent photos, rather than doing it chronologically (I always feel like I am behind...and get somewhat stressed out), this way I can scrap while things are fresh in my brain.

These are some photos that were taken from my birthday celebration...I had just opened my new camera (see how big my smile is, lol!). I used the kit called Unconditional and it looks more like a Mother's Day page than my birthday, but since I think my kids are AWESOME! I thought it was blog worthy.

Enjoy your day! Thanks for visiting today!!!

Well we made it through another Monday...yippee! So it is on to Tuesday!

Okay so here is another Women of Life card...I promise this is the last one for a while (it is such a versatile set ...I love it!). I cannot wait to see the new stamp sets and new colors in their perfect match collection!

One of my favorite digi sites has a freebie...you can get it here. I am hoping to get some digi scrapping in this week, I have lots of new goodies from all the sales in honor of National Scrapbooking Day! So many kits so little time!!!!

I hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!

my mothers day...

Hi all...
I hope you had a marvelous weekend!!! We had a great birthday celebration for Josh on Friday night at his favorite spot...El Paso. I think he had a good 19th Birthday.

Here is a small stamping project I did over the weekend...I made these little gifts for the mothers on the Hospitality Team at church. I found these cute little felt watering cans at Target in the $1 spot (love that place). I then used my oval Nestabilities to create a tag for them. Of course I used my favorite stamp set of the week...Women of Life by Papertrey. I filled the watering cans with Starburst candies since they come in bright colors that matched everything.

My kids treated me to a great mothers day!!! After church
on Sunday...Ashley took care of lunch for everyone, she made my favorite Paradise Bakery sandwiches...Turkey Cranberry, they are so yummy and I must say she recreated them perfectly! Here is a picture of her in action. She also made some WW cupcakes for dessert...dark chocolate and only 2 points (kind of makes you feel good eating 1 or 2). After lunch they surprised me with some gifts. I got an eyelash curler from Sephora (that I requested), let me tell you that thing works Awesome!!!!, the new cookbook by Robin Miller,Weight Watchers cookbook (can you tell I have a thing for cookbooks?), and some new make-up brushes (Ashley and I have been reading this book by Carmindy on What Not To Wear). We then watched the chick movie 27 dresses (pretty good I might add).
It was a great day Ashley and Josh!!!!!

Have a super day! Thanks for visiting!

sunflowers for mothers day

TGIF! I am so glad it is Friday. It was kind of hectic at work yesterday. Whenever a doctor is out for a few days and then comes back...the work load is pretty heavy. I am glad I have today off...but I will be doing a lot of running around. Brunch with a friend, Birthday lunch for someone at work, make Josh's birthday cake, wrap his gifts, go out for his birthday dinner, celebrate some more, and hopefully I can find some time to clean my bathrooms, and stamp/scrap!!!

For today's card I used my Papertrey set Women of Life (again!). This is the card I made for my mom (I hope she doesn't read my blog today, lol!). I really like the new PTI colors, and especially the ribbon. Isn't this polka dot satin ribbon soooo cute?

Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Mother's Day! Thanks for stopping by!!!

I've been digi scrapping again...

Hi all!
Today I thought I would post one of my digi pages...I have been starting to do 2 page layouts, I like when the pages flow together when I put them in my album.  This is from our Valentine's Day, my mom sent the kids these lollipop lips...we had a lot of fun with them.

Tomorrow is Josh's 19th birthday (boy, is he that old? It is a good thing I am not aging, lol!).  We usually let the kids pick out a place for dinner, Josh chooses the same place every time, El Paso (very yummy tex-mex place), they have the best pulled pork sandwiches.  Then after dinner we go home for cake and presents.  Good Times!  I am sure there will be a scrap page soon.

Enjoy you Thursday and thanks for stopping by today!!!

women of life...take 4

It is Wednesday! The half way point!!!! The weekend is right around the corner.

So as you can see I am really getting a lot of use out of my Women of Life stamp set by Papertrey
It is the perfect set for making cards for women. I used the color combo of soft sky and real red, which I think looks really nice together. It is hard to see from the picture, but I added stardust stickles the center of each flower to give it some "bling."

I don't know about you, but I am always looking for fast, easy and yummy recipes. That is why one of my favorite shows on the food network is Robin Miller last night I made this I had some leftover grilled chicken from our fajitas, so it worked out perfectly. I did substitute a chopped red pepper for the apple (that just sounded weird to me). I served it with some homemade tortilla chips (cut tortilla into wedges, spray with cooking spray, salt, pepper, bake until golden), sour cream, some extra cheese for the top and salsa. It was yummy and perfect for a summer night meal.

I also started to watch the video I bought on how to work my new camera, I think I may have to watch it a few times, but it is very helpful since I am a visual learner. I am excited to take it off auto mode and use some of the more creative settings.

Thanks for visiting! Enjoy your day!!

I love this set!

Hi all...
I had a very productive day yesterday on my day off...I got my pantry organized, my laptop is fixed and running with a new battery after a visit to the Apple store, picked up my digi pages from Costco (came out great), organized my craft space and got all my digi kits unzipped and organized in my Acdsee program, and then made fajita's for dinner in honor of Cinco de Mayo. Whew...it felt great to get lots crossed off my list.

I haven't had any stamping time in a while, but I have a bunch of cards from last week. This is the card I made for my mother-in-law for Mother's Day. I used the perfect match collection from Papertrey...I love this color (berry sorbet).

Thanks for visiting and I hope your Tuesday is Terrific!

rock and roll with the little lady...

Hi all are you ready for Monday?

I had another productive/busy weekend...I finished a secret project for Mother's Day, cleaned my house and the church, helped Ashley with her wedding website, uploaded 35 digi pages to Costco for printing, ordered a new scrapbook to put them in, finished shopping for my mom and Mike's mom for mother's day, laundry and grocery shopping (whew...I am tired, lol!).

I am so excited that I have the day off from work. One of the Doc's is out of town, so it will be pretty slow. It is a good thing because my laptop battery is having issues and I have an appointment at the Apple store today at 11am to get it fixed. And while I am over in Chandler, I am going to also pick up my digi pages from Costco ($2.99 per 12x12 sheet). I will let you know how they turned out in one of my postings this week. I am also going to finish my cupboard organization. Sarita, one of my blog readers had a super idea...she suggested using inexpensive 13x9 pans to organize the deep cupboards, that way you can just pull it out and see what is in there. I found some giant plastic baskets at Target that I am going to use for my pantry cupboard, that way the kids can just pull it out and see that we do have stuff to eat! Thanks Sarita!!!!

Okay...onto the card: I made several Mother's Day cards last week, so I would be prepared to send them out on Tuesday or Wednesday (so this week may be dedicated to Mother's Day). I used my Papertrey set Little Lady and used the rock and roll technique with pretty in pink/Regal Rose ink. I really like how the shading came out, plus it is my favorite color schemes brown and pink.

Thanks for visiting! Enjoy your Cinco de Mayo!!!

Supplies used (all SU! unless noted): Little Lady/Women of Life stamp sets (PTI); Pretty in Pink/Close to Cocoa/Whisper White cardstock; Pretty in Pink/Regal Rose/Close to Cocoa ink; brown stitched ribbon (Michael's).

photo extraction...

This was the final 2 page layout from my digi course. We learned how to extract photos from their background. Of course no one in my family wanted to pose for me in front of a white background...so luckily I found this picture of Josh and Sharon that had a pretty light background, so I was able to extract it with little clean up in PSE.

This is Josh and Sharon a few weeks ago, Josh took Sharon to her prom...doesn't he look cute? He cleans up pretty well, if I do say so myself, lol!

I am so glad it is Friday! I have lots of projects planned...Hope I can cross some off my ever growing list.

Enjoy your weekend! Thanks for visiting!!

another papertrey card...

It is Thursday...one day closer to Friday! whoo hoo!!! Nothing too exciting to post today...I did get all my food cabinets organized yesterday...and it looks so nice! I had stuff way in the back that expired in 2004...CRAZY! Sometime in the next few days it is onto the dishes/storage/pots & pan cabinets. I think the spring cleaning bug bit me kind of late this year. I just love to have things organized and in their place (a little OCD, huh?).

I have been playing with my new Papertrey Women of Life stamp set the past couple of days...I hope you don't get sick of all the cards using this set, lol! I decided to make my own background by stamping the flower image with white craft ink onto SU!'s Purely Pomegranate cardstock
Have a Terrific day!! And thanks for visiting my blog!!

Supplies used (SU! unless noted): Women of Life (PTI) stamp set; Kraft/Chocolate Chip/Purely Pomegranate cardstock; White (craft)/Chocolate Chip/Purely Pomegranate ink; Chocolate 5/8 grosgrain ribbon
